The Swiss experts have redesigned this wheelset not only to be aero but to be stable in heavy winds, lightweight, and durable.

The redesign of these wheels started from the ground up, since DT Swiss have moved away from making them in rim brake versions and are offering a disc brake only design. That allowed them, along with their aero partner SWISS SIDE, to shape the rim without having to worry about accommodating a brake track. The resulting AERO+ profile reduces drag compared to the old ARC 1400s and increases the feeling of stability and control in crosswinds. Afterall, most of the time, we’re not facing head-on winds but are dealing with side winds and backdrafts that come off the trucks that speed past us. Last thing you want is for your wheel to start acting like a kite!

The DT Swiss ARC 1400 DICUT DB are hooked rim and tubeless ready. The 20mm internal rim width has been optimized for 25-28mm tires. Now that might not be the super-wide rims that are proliferating the market, but remember, these are not intended to be moonlighting as gravel wheels. They are racing wheels for your fastest training days and most important races. DT Swiss kept the hooked bead design instead of going out on the straight rim limb so that the wheels would pair much more easily with a much wider range of tubeless tire options.

DICUT 1400 wheels are built around 240-level hubs, which use steel bearings and a super fast reacting ratchet system to ensure instantaneous engagement, so no watt gets left behind. But the biggest draws of DT Swiss hubs have always been their bomb-proof ultra-quality and durability. It’s no different here. The Aerocomp II bladed spokes have also been refined to offer an aero advantage, while the straight pull design ends in a unique T-head at the hub end that secures them in the proper aero orientation and helps reduce need for truing down the line.

The DT Swiss ARC 1400 DICUT DB come in three different rim depths (50mm, 62mm, and 80mm) and are available in 700c and 650b rim diameters. These are fantastic wheels that offer an affordable way to pimp your ride and put a smile on your face.
