2021 Look 765 Optimum+ Shimano Ultegra Bike

Though there is no question we are among the first to swoon over the latest, greatest, most expensive, specialized tech and kit available, we also recognize that what most of us really need is a practical bike that will work in all sorts of different situations. That’s what we think the whole idea behind the endurance-oriented LOOK 765 Optimum+ recognizes as well.

Most gravel bikes have either the soul of a road bike or the soul of a mountain bike. The LOOK 765 Optimum+ is the rare road bike that has the soul of a gravel bike. LOOK has taken much of what makes their 765 Gravel great and applied it to the 765 Optimum+, which is a bike that focuses on road riding while still offering performance capacity on hearty gravel sections. That translates into a comfort-oriented carbon frame layup that doesn’t ignore the roadie’s desire to be able to put the hammer down with efficiency. The bike’s versatility becomes immediately apparent when you notice that it is spec’d with already generously wide 30mm tires, and the frame can actually accommodate up to 42mm tires on 700c wheels. Indeed, you can even get yourself a pair of 650b wheels and stick on 2.1 inch tires if you are ever inclined to turn this into a real adventure rider.

The geometry for the 765 Optimum+ is similar to what you’ll find on the 765 gravel. That means you’ll enjoy what is pretty much the LOOK endurance-oriented geo, meant to keep you in a comfortable position for however many hours you want to spend on the bike. It’s a little less aggressive than you’ll find on the LOOK frames intended for the pro peloton. It’s intended to keep the handling stable in rough conditions without losing the snappiness you’ll want for those magical moments you are gliding on perfectly smooth tarmac.

As with the Gravel versions of the 765 line, LOOK included their 3D Wave Stays for the rear triangle. That means that they have softened the squared off tubes to have a flowy widening quality, effectively offering deflection points that enable a 15% increase in the natural flexibility of the carbon. That superior level of vibration damping is something you will appreciate over all terrains and distances.

Available in five sizes and two pre-built options the LOOK 765 Optimum+ offers the type of versatility that can open up entire new rides with a gorgeous mix of road and gravel to help you find those routes less traveled.
