2020 De Rosa Corum Disk
As much as we can be tempted by the latest and greatest tech in cycling, we also have a great appreciation for legacy materials that have proved extremely reliable in terms of comfort and performance. For anyone who started out riding steel, and then went through the stages of owning aluminum, carbon, and even titanium frames, once you hop on a De Rosa Corum Disk road bike, you’ll remember what you loved so much about steel racing bikes.
De Rosa has been an innovative bike brand from the beginning, so they have naturally moved through all the stages of making bikes with the best and most popular materials available. But that doesn’t mean they have forgotten their roots as builders of some of the greatest customizable steel frames in the pro peloton; frames ridden to Grand Tour victories by the greatest racers in the world, including the Eddy Merckx. The Corum Disk is made with TIG welding high quality 18MCDV6 steel. Steel is known for how amazingly comfortable the ride quality is, while the TIG welding helps to keep the weight down and responsiveness up. Available in 13 stock sizes, the Corum Disk is also a member of the De Rosa Black Label series, which means that there is also the option to customize both the geometry and slope of your frame.
As wonderfully traditional as a steel frame might feel, you will be able to use the most up-to-date components from the powerful stopping offered by the disc brakes, to electronic or mechanical groupsets. The frame comes equipped with the De Rosa carbon disc-specific fork, which will help keep the steering sharp without allowing vibrations to rattle up to your hands. The seatpost diameter is 29.4mm, but the post is not included with the frame. The Italian threaded bottom bracket will accommodate just about any crank on the market, and will free you from the potential squeak of a press fit.
The De Rosa Corum Disk road bike will be so comfortable that you will be inspired to strike out on endurance adventures knowing that the steel frame will help you feel fresh even after hours in the saddle.
