2021 Cipollini MCM All Road
Though there is no doubt that gravel bikes have really hit the mainstream, there are few options out there that feel as race-ready as the Cipollini MCM All Road. The responsiveness and snappy acceleration belie the more comfort oriented endurance geometry to make a gravel bike that offers the perfect balance between comfort and aggression. With the Cipollini MCM All Road you can get the same great race feeling as your road bike, and still enjoy the pleasures of exploring unknown gravel trails.
Cipollini uses what they call T2T Wrapping, or tube to tube, which creates a super light, super strong frame using Cipollini’s T1000 level carbon. Since this is a bike fit for Cipo, it will naturally be very rigid and ready for strong accelerations. But they haven’t just taken one of their road designs and shoved it into a gravel package. Anyone who has ridden one of those super stiff race-ready Cipollini frames will likely be happy to hear that. The designers have taken into account the added level of vibration absorption that would be needed for extensive gravel riding, while also acknowledging that the durability would be important as well. So they have done things like re-worked the rear triangle so that it would offer a lot more comfort by absorbing the rough trail chatter that can quickly reverberate to your backside.
With an eye towards enhancing the long term durability of the frame, they have included a layer of Kevlar in the mix so that high stress areas like the seat tube and bottom bracket will be reinforced and able to handle the situations, however jarring. The BB86 press fit bottom bracket will ensure that region remains stiff and responsive. And since this is a Cipollini frame, there is every reason to go a bit blingy with how you kit it out. Keeping it light and sexy is what Cipo is all about, so internal wiring will beg to have some electronic groupset action, though of course a mechanical groupset will also fit quite nicely. Imagine how sweet a Campy H11 disc brake will look on this baby.
The Cipollini MCM All Road comes in five stock sizes from which to choose. You will be able to run up to 40mm tires if you are tackling seriously rough terrain, or go thinner if you want to save some weight for longer rides taking in more tarmac than trails. The MCM All Road gives you the tools to make it the exact bike you have always wanted.
