2021 Argon 18 Gallium Disc SRAM Force AXS Bike
There aren’t too many changes to bike components that have made more of an impact in recent years than the general acceptance of disc brakes on road bikes. Scoff all you like before you ride one, but as soon as you hop on a bike like the Argon 18 Gallium Disc you will certainly change your tune and wonder when you can add it to your collection.
For one thing, this is the adventurous roadie’s delight. With the same race geometry that you’ll find on the Gallium Pro Disc, this is a bike that you can be sure will feel quick and responsive on your normal roads. But since it is a frame that can accommodate up to 30mm tires, you will also be able to take it on long rides that even include some gravel or poorly paved sections of road without having to worry about ripping up your old skinnies. This is a lightweight, race-ready bike that has the added advantage of having the serious stopping power provided by disc brakes. This is a bike for intense training and racing, whether you are planning on using it in your local races and mass start events, or just want to have the fastest, most practical road bike for your solitary weekend centuries. Getting your fit right will be made easy, though, with Argon 18s 3D System, which offers three head tube heights for every frame size. This helps you to adjust the handlebar height using these specially designed head tube internals. It’s a huge improvement over the use of spacers because it will look cleaner and increases front end rigidity up to 11% compared to a 25mm worth of spacers.
It’s designed around flat mount disc brakes which will give you the option to fit all major components companies disc brakes groupsets. The replaceable rear derailleur hanger will protect that vulnerable area, especially if you are going to be traveling with it to your races. The DT Swiss type 12mm thru-axle design will ensure a stable, secure ride while the easy to use 27.2 seatpost offers more compliance, adjustability and comfort. You’ll also appreciate how the inlaid chainsuck protector on the chainstay prevents your chain from slapping and damaging the carbon, especially if you do venture onto rougher roads or a little gravel on occasion. The cable routing is internal and accommodates both electric and mechanical groupsets, which will encourage you to shoot the works if you want when building this baby up. You can also buy it in complete Ultegra Di2 or Ultegra mechanical builds.
Available in six sizes starting at a 42cm and scaling up to a 59.5cm, there are a lot of fit options with the Argon 18 Gallium Disc that will allow you to make this the most comfortable and capable racing bike with disc brakes.
