As the middle child in the M series, the Enve 635 wheelset might be considered the “just right” option with the 35mm internal rim width able to handle serious rubber, but still keeping on the very light side of the weight equation. The outer width of 43.5mm will indicates just how expansive you can get with tire options. 2.8 inch tires will be assured to give you some kickass traction over the roughest rock gardens or loamiest of descents.
Then the Wide Hookless Bead technology Enve has developed will allow you to take advantage of running your tires as low as you like without having to worry about a pinch flat. The design offers a wider leading edge of the hookless bead offers a broader surface to creates a more forgiving platform. So when you are running pretty low pressure in your tires and you hit a bump that would normally result in a pinched flat, the tire can instead bottom out without resulting in a “snake-bite” style flat.
Focusing on the durability of the wheels was essential too, so Enve has given the front and rear 28 spokes and used their Molded Spoke Hole Technology to enhance the strength of the rims. What this method does is mold the spoke holes into the fabric of the rim instead of drilling after the rim has been shaped and laid-up. That helps keep the wheel light and avoids compromising the carbon by drilling into it.
Versatile Sizes, Superior Strength of the Enve M635 Wheelset
Available in 27.5 inch wheels and 29ers, the Enve M635 are extremely strong in spite of remaining quite light and of course responsive. Depending on the hub choice you go with the 27.5s will weigh in the 1500-1600g range while the 29ers are between 1541 and 1724g, again depending on hub choice.
