2017 Transition Patrol Carbon

The Patrol is a bike that has garnered rave reviews from practically everyone who has tried it. It is one of those magical bikes you want to ride again and again. Most of its riders would probably admit that improving this bike would be next to impossible, and maybe you shouldn’t mess with a good thing anyway. Transition disagreed. They managed to take all that is wonderful about the Patrol and put it into a carbon frame, leaving the geometry and GiddyUp suspension intact. The result is a bike that rides like the Patrol, but is 600g lighter. The reviews have come in and people are raving.

Mike Levy from Pinkbike had this to say, “The Patrol Carbon is the most versatile all-mountain bike that I can remember riding. It's slack and forgiving like a proper enduro race bike should be, but then it seems to transform into not just a completely manageable package when the terrain isn't burly, but one that's an absolute blast to ride. Transition hasn't employed any buttons or dials to change the bike's geometry, either, but rather just built a smart, easy to live with bike that's fun to ride everywhere and anywhere" - Mike Levy, Pinkbike magazine.

The reason the Patrol Carbon is slack and forgiving is because it has what has been dubbed progressive geometry, just like its predecessor the Patrol. It means the bike is long, low and slack. In other words it makes you feel grounded when you are flying down the mountain, and also grounded during the climb. Actually, the place where you notice the 600g weight savings the most is ascending and descending. Transition claims that due to the lower weight it climbs like an E-bike and descends like a downhill bike. One thing is for sure, this is one super fun bike to ride.
