2021 Moots Mooto X RSL 29
For anyone looking to find the perfect balance between hardtail snappiness and 29er all-conquering rollover, the Moots Mooto X RSL 29 will likely hit that seemingly unattainable sweet spot. Moots have developed this bike to be their single track slayer. Light, nimble, quick handling, the Mooto X RSL will be a bike that will make you enthusiastic about your climbing.
The combination of a titanium hardtail with the 29 inch wheels will so completely make sense once you jump on, you’ll wonder where it’s been all your life. Moots has used their Pi-Tech titanium tube set to get the proper balance of snappy stiffness and forgiving compliance. They make sure to taper the tubes according to the frame sizes and the requirements of the various frame points. The bottom bracket is a PF30, to get that extra oomph out of every pedal stroke. Meanwhile, they have given it an aggressive geometry while swooping the down tube to give extra wheel space and eliminate any chance of toe overlap screwing up your handling in particularly tight trail situations.
Though low weight and durability are essential to any mountain bike, what you will really love about the Mooto X RSL is how comfortable it is. Even if titanium is inherently more forgiving a material than alu or carbon, the skill with which the Moots people work with and weld their ti frames sets them apart even among other titanium producers. Then adding them to the 29 inch wheels with 2.4 inch tires will absorb big hits while the 100mm of front suspension will help track the trail guaranteeing the sort of grip you’ll need to keep the momentum high. The handling will be aided by the hefty 44mm diameter headtube that will feel pinpoint perfect in a point and shoot way. This is a rare 29er that will seem to know what you want to do before you do it, and feel not only efficient but fun on those technical trails.
If you are building it up yourself, the Mooto X RSL 29 has user friendly external cable routing, though if you are planning on putting on a dropper post, that is internally routed to keep the back end clean. And if you are splurging on an electronic groupset, that is also internal compatible. It can be set up either with a 2X or 1X, with a 38/28 or a 32 single being the ring capacity, respectively. Post mount disc brakes can take up to 160mm rotors, and the rear axle is a Boost capable 12mm Thru x 148mm.
Available in five sizes with custom sizing also an option, the Moots Mooto X RSL 29 will be that 29er you have always dreamed about. If you are always ready for any adventure in the back woods, this will be the bike to be your best friend.

Brushed: Moots downtube, model name and seat tube gator in a subtle BRUSHED texture paired with our satin bead blast finish.
Etched: Etches the logos onto the frame where decals would be used
Stanley: The downtube and model name are treated with a vivid gradient. The chainstay is further embellished with a design based on the iconic hotel carpet pattern found in one of our favorite Colorado-set films.
Dots: Our version of classic polka dots, for those seeking low-key eye candy. A mix of brushing, anodizing and bead-blasted anodizing; the color palette will always be the same, but each frame’s final arrangement is slightly unique.
Facet: Inspired by the likes of artists Paul Klee and Bridget Riley – as well as video-game design techniques – this pattern is rendered with bead-blasted anodizing. The colors are easy on the eyes, the branding is tasteful, and this has quickly become a factory favorite.
Panels: The classic, applied in Moots fashion.
Anodized Logos: This finish option anodizes our standard Moots logos. Customize the look of your Moots in six different colors.
