2016 Pinarello Dogma F8
The 2016 Pinarello Dogma F8 continues to impress and has been dubbed the Velvet Hammer.
Pinarello's objective has consistently
been to create the world best riding bikes and with the F8 they have progressed with that legacy. Pinarello does this by seaking out the
best technologies and works relentlessly to blend these new technologies with their world class geometry and bike building knowledge.
The Dogma F8 has made huge strides forward improving aerodynamics, balancing the frame design with asymmetry, bring down overall frame
weight, improving lateral rigidity and verticle complience. The finishing result is the Dogma F8.
The Pinarello F8 is:
12% + Rigid
16% + Balanced
120 gr + Lighter
47% + Improved Aerodynamics
Pinarello collaborated with English car manufactuer Jaguar to streamline the Dogma F8 aerodynamic footprint by an astonishing 47% over
the Dogma 65.1. This was achieved by examining every detail of the frameset and fork and how the entire bike worked together. No stone
was left unturned in Pinarello's mission to make the worlds best riding aero bike.
In conjunction with the Dogma F8 frame, the new ONDA F8 fork also got a remodeling with aero efficency front and center. This resulted
in a 54% reduction in aerodynamic drag. The fork not only does it looks streamlined and sleek but as always Pinarello has brought their
style to the design resulting in phenomenal stability in all riding conditions.
Pinarello's carbon partner TORAY granted Pinarello sole rights to use their new T1100 1K Dream Carbon plus Nanoalloy Technology. Until
now, the carbon has only been available for top end aviation projects. The Dogma F8 is only bike built with T1100 1K carbon in the
world. This combination of design and exclusive carbon produced the premire super bike on the road.
This is not Pinarello's 4 generation asymmetric design. Their theory is basic, get the most energy/power to the road and at the same
time give the best road bike handling characteristics. With the asymmetric frame design Pinarello effectively counter balances the
pedaling forces of the drivetrain to deliver every once of power you put into the pedals to the road. The Dogma F8 is 16% more balanced
then its predisesor, the Dogma 65.1, and 33% more balanced than a non asymmetric frame. All it takes is one ride and you know you are
ridding an extraodinary bike.
Pinarello introduced the FlatBack tube shapes which provide significantly better aerodynamics, aid in lateral stiffness and a reductions
in weight. This results in a 12% lateral stiffness gain while dropping the frame weight by 120 grams. This results in a more
aerodynamic, lighter and more responsive frame.
Pinarello Think 2 design allows you to run either mechanical or electric internal cable routing simply by switching out the cable stops going into the frame. Each frame comes with both options. The Dogma F8 continues with the 1 1/8-inch top headset bearing and 1 1/2-inch bottom headset bearing. Pinarello runs an Italian bottom bracket.
