VHPC BOTTOM BRACKET (Very High Pressure Compressed Carbon): The bottom bracket is the heart of the frame. In order to maximize pedaling efficiency, Look has developed a proprietary technique called "compressed carbon technology". The precise positioning of the carbon fibers inside the mold combined with very high pressure compression during the moulding process produces a very light and very stiff bottom bracket shell. The weight of the bottom bracket is only 130 grams with a 170n/m stiffness rating once the frame has been assembled. You feel the bike accellerate as you transmit power with each stroke.
Technology
NEW HEAD FIT 2 HEADSET
- The all new HEAD FIT 2 look patented headset ingeniously allows headset adjustment without loosening or moving the stem. Headset play is adjusted by tightening the carbon ring on the steerer tube. You can now replace your stem without affecting the headset adjustment. The compression system that normally resides in the stem is replaced by a simple cap. Weight savings 40 gr.
E-POST SEATPOST (E= ELASTOMER ADJUSTABLE
- Vibration dampening: 2 internal and 1 external elastomers dampen vibrations and absorb road shock. The E-post enhances overall comfort. Anti-roatation: Due to the elastomer system and the shape of the seatpost itself, it is not possible for the seatpost to slip or twist in the frame. The seatpost is stopped by the frame. The seatpost attachment is better suited to carbon frames: 5nm is sufficient torque to fix the seatpost. Delivered with 3 elastomers of different rigidity (soft-medium-hard)
VHM CARBON: VERY HIGH MODULUS
- VHM carbon fibers allows LOOK to build ultra-light with optimal rigidity. Delivering a frame that is efficient but not to stiff as to be uncomfortable.
HIGH PRESSURE MOLDED BOTTOM BRACKET
- The bottom braceket is the center of a frame. LOOK developed a unique method of fabrication: Compressed carbon. Using unidirectional carbon fibers, the bottom bracket shell is molded and cast at a very high pressure (250 bars) in one operation. This process creates a very solid yet lightweight component. A LOOK 585 forged carbon bottom bracket weighs about 130 grams with a rigidity of 170nm in a complete frame.
ULTRA LIGHT CONCEPT
- LOOK's expertise in frame materials and construction creates ultra light frames without compromising strength or rigidity.
ALL AROUND PERFORMANCE
- With its rigidity comes a finely tuned performance.
MONOCOQUE AESTHETICS
- Monocoque frame technology mastered by LOOK allows us to create a frame that is uniquely designed yet very light.
HSC6 FORK
- 100% monocoque fork weighing only 350 grams that complies with most rigorous standards. The blades, steerer and forkends are all molded into one monocoque component. A 45 degrees collar permits the bearings to be positioned directly on the crown of the fork. Lower bearings are oversized 1/4".
