Ventana

Ventana Mountainbikes, USA has been designing and building some of the highest quality full suspension frames for a long time now. Ventana was formed in late 1988 as a joint venture between Sherwood Gibson and Steve Blalock who shared a common interest in mountain bikes and their construction. Blalock remained with Ventana until 1991 when Gibson became sole owner. While other manufacturers market so called "Hand-Built, American" bikes actually built by large production houses in the U.S. and Taiwan, Ventanas are truly born and manufactured in the same region as the sport itself – Northern California. The name Ventana itself comes from the rugged coastal wilderness in Big Sur near Monterey, CA.

American craftsmanship could not ask for a better spokesmodel than any one of Ventana’s frames. Sherwood Gibson is widely regarded as the finest aluminum welder in business today. He personally fabricates every frame that bears the Ventana name, and each of his creations is a rolling work of art. Exquisitely machined parts, aesthetically simple yet beautiful form, and weld beads that look like something from a Parisian pastry master make Ventanas stand out from the competition. The detail in all design and manufacturing aspects assures the Ventana rider that they have a bike made by and for true cyclists.

Ventana’s dedication to the discerning rider is evident in the versatility of their flagship frame, the El Saltamontes. From the multitude of stock and custom colors available, to the shock and travel options, virtually every rider can find an El Salt to suit their tastes and needs. Ventana has also committed itself to developing the best 29” mountain frames on the market. All of Ventana’s offerings are available in stock, custom and semi-custom geometries. In addition, they also offer topnotch rigid frames in road, ‘cross and mountain 26”, 29” and single speed configurations.
