The VXRS Ulteam weighs in at scantly more than 900 grams for the frame and at about 1600 grams for the complete module. This "full carbon" module offers a
reduction in weight of more than 125 grams compared to the already extremely light VXRS.
This ultra light module made its debut with the Quickstep and Bouyges Telecom teams in the Tour de France 2005 and culminated in World championship victory
in Madrid 2005. Tom Boonen won two stages of the Tour de France, World road Championship in Madrid and started off 2006 by winning four of five stages and
ultimately, the GC at the Tour of Qatar, Anthony Gelsin took 3rd in Madrid and Paolo Bettini won the Zurich Championship and then finished his season with a
Tour of Lombardy victory aboard the Ulteam. The new Ulteam model is the probably the most desirable road frame in the peleton for 2006.
Technological advantages include concepts such as the SAFE+ fork (multi-diameter steerer strengthened with Kevlar), the TRANSLINK (integrated seat tube /
seatpost), the Quickset (pre adjusted integrated headset), CMT components (carbon matrix technology fork and frame dropouts.)
RTM Technology
Time modules are chock full of technological features. Time is the only manufacturer in the industry to utilize Resin Transfer Molding. RTM technology allows
Time the freedom to shape their tubes depending on the tube’s specific function. The resin penetrates the fiber layers for total impregnation which allows
each zone of a part to be designed to deliver specific mechanical characteristics with no restrictions or compromises. This technology also utilizes a
tubular layer of unidirectional braids incorporating Vibraser polyamid fibers into specific braids. Vibraser is a superior vibration damping fiber and the
unidirectional braid offers excellent flex characteristics where it is desired. A bidirectional braid is used in layers for rigidity.
Translink Technology
Translink is the integration of the seat tube and seatpost into one unit. The advantage is a stiffer frame with a 35gram weight reduction and cleaner lines.
The Translink tube is cut for your specific saddle height and allows 30mm of adjustment to accommodate different saddle profiles.
