The new 2008 Ibis SilkSL uses an all new layup of ultra high modulus carbon fiber, resulting in both a weight savings and a gain in strength. New carbon fiber headcups further reduce the weight, resulting in a 58cm frame weight of under 900g. That's about two pounds total.
Cosmetically, there's an all new graphics package, and many of you will be happy to hear that Ibis is now offering colors. In addition to the standard gloss clear (which shows the beautiful carbon weave), they also are offering British Racing Green and a Rich Red.
Best of all the new SilkSL is the same price as last year with no upcharge for a painted frame. Price includes a Easton SL fork painted to match.
